Jonathan A. Sorkowitz

Founding attorney Jonathan A. Sorkowitz has extensive litigation experience in commercial disputes, insurance coverage, class action matters, antitrust, professional liability, and a wide array of other substantive areas. Jon formed his own practice in 2020 after a successful career at several esteemed law firms to focus on representing plaintiffs and defendants in high-stakes litigation matters, both in business disputes and from the plaintiff’s side. Jon frequently works in partnership with other attorneys through co-counsel agreements, allowing him to tap in to his network of expert attorneys to provide his clients the best possible representation. He is admitted to practice in New York and Arizona.
Before opening his own firm, Jon was one of the founding partners of the New York office of Pierce Bainbridge Beck Price & Hecht LLP. Prior to that, Jon worked at the global law firm White & Case LLP as a commercial and antitrust litigator, and the insurance coverage and litigation boutique Skarzynski Black LLC. Early on in his career, Jon spent a year with the civil practice of The Legal Aid Society in Queens, New York, where he defended families from eviction in the aftermath of the financial crisis.
Jon was named a 2019 and 2020 Super Lawyers Rising Star in commercial litigation. In addition to his skills in the courtroom, Jon regularly provides advice to clients on insurance issues and in other areas of the law in which he is interested, including data privacy and campaign finance and election law. With respect to data privacy, Jon has been a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US).
Jon holds a B.A. in History from Cornell University and a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he was a Senior Editor of the Journal of Constitutional Law. While studying in law school, Jon worked as a summer clerk in the chambers of U.S. District Judge Norma Shapiro, Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
Outside the law, Jon is active in local politics in his home of Westchester County, New York and is an avid Mets fan, hiker, and lover of rock ‘n roll. His wife Lindsay is also an attorney as well as an artisan home bread baker.
